Kicking your socks off in the middle of the night when it gets too warm.
Naps on cold days.
I seriously love my cats. Even when they wake me up at 3am for an early breakfast, they’re just outstanding little creatures.
Turning on the indoor holiday lights in the morning before leaving for work.
Being one of the first 500 people in and getting a cool gift bag (thanks, Bust Craftacular!).
The Pogue’s “Fairytale of New York” is surly and spirited and it never fails to make me smile.
Tinsel garland. I keep green and purple sparkle garland up all year long, but I put up even more for Christmas.
Watching your friends eat cookies that you baked just for them.
It was so cold today, I had three cups of cocoa!

Getting ready to read Beautiful Creatures. It should be called Beautiful Cover.
Just finished Libba Bray’s Gemma Doyle trilogy and now I wish she would just write another already. Bring back Kartik!
Coming in from the cold and bundling up under a fleece blanket.
Sometimes, nothing can hit the spot quite like a barbacoa bowl from Chipotle. That stuff is good. Too good.
I get to meet a cool baby named Oliver this weekend. That is a good, good name.
Man, it feels good to cross things off a list!
Buying bulk candy in Chinatown. A mix of strange and wonderful bits and bobs of sweetness.

Eating burgers at the Ear Inn.
Cadbury Drinking Chocolate. Not too sweet. Completely perfect.
My friends with houses are busy putting up Christmas lights, and I love to see how their personalities emerge in their choice of decoration. Are they giant-inflatable globe people? Simple white light people? Or crazy-pants, over-the-top, light-up-the-whole-block people?
At Thanksgiving dinner, my family had one guest. His name is Long John, he’s a month shy of 80 and he was rocking the most impressive pair of red, white and black penguin suspenders that I’ve ever seen.
Today I saw an art print of a squirrel perched atop the Empire State Building throwing nuts at approaching airplanes ala Godzilla. Why didn’t I buy it?
